Nanded is a district in Maharashtra state of India. The city is situated on the bank of the Godavari River. It is the administrative headquarters of Nanded district. It is bounded by Parbhani district to the east, Hingoli district to the northeast, Yavatmal district to the north, Latur district to the southeast, Bidar district of Karnataka state to the south, Adilabad district to the northeast and Nizamabad district to the west of Telangana state.
