Dholpur is a city in eastern of Rajasthan state in India. It is the administrative headquarter of Dholpur district. Dholpur raise a separate district in 1982. The City is bounded by Bharatpur district of Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh town to north, Madhya Pradesh to the south, Karauli district to the west and Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh to the east. The king Dholan Dev Tomar was the rular of Dholpur . His residence was 10 Kilometer in south-west of Dholpur named Bilpur near Chambal in a fort.
The district has divided into six tehsils- Dholpur, Beri, Baseri, Rajakhera, Saipau and Sarmathura. The district is well connected by roads and rails. Mumbai- Agra Central Railway line passes through the Dholpur district. The total area of Dholpur District is 3034 sq. Kilometes. It ’s population according to census of the year 2011 was 1206516 comparisng of 653647 Male and 552869 Female.
